About
Massie Lodge
Massie
Lodge is all about us. Helen & Evan Robinson.
A long time ago we both got sick of living the Corporate life in Sydney
and while travelling through Warwick, stumbled across 80 acres of pasture
improved paddocks and decided that that’s where we wanted to live with
our horses, dogs and birds.
We decided to take on a few horses as agisters as we had plenty of room
and the word soon spread and so Massie Lodge was born.
One thing that we decided from the start was that it was not about how
many horses we could look after – it was about the quality and attention
that we could give each horse – there was no way that any of the horses
were going to get lost in a herd or just a number; it was about knowing
every horse by name, understanding who they were and making sure that
each horse got the individualised attention that it needed after a long
preparation or after foaling down.
Massie Lodge is a home away from home for its residents. Massie Lodge
is somewhere safe for your horse to let down after a full-on preparation
in a supervised, safe environment.
Soon after we established Massie Lodge as a Boutique Thoroughbred Agistment
property, the opportunity came up for us to acquire Gallopers Australia
Wide Bloodstock – which became the formal sales arm of Massie Lodge.
Evan has been involved in the thoroughbred industry for over 20 years
and prides himself on being honest with all his clients, and sometimes
too honest. Evan has had much experience in most facets of the industry
and is eager to pass on his knowledge to all who require it.
Evan runs Gallopers - he is a licensed Jockey Manager in Queensland
and looks after the Massie Lodge Residents.
Helen works non stop as well. As well as working fulltime at a local
Stockfeed company, she is the accounts manager for a thoroughbred breeding
farm near Toowoomba. Helen also excels in Web Site design management
& artistic photography, recently winning a photography competition
with one of her works.
We are only a small concern compared to others in the industry, but
we pride ourselves on giving something different to our animals: one-on-one
attention, time, and the best individual attention.
Not to forget lots of love – which we understand to be an essential
ingredient to a happy, well balanced animal.
We also believe in keeping our clients in contact with the day-to-day
goings on with their horses. Communication with our clients is of the
utmost importance to us with ongoing contact and updates through our
blog, The Life and Times of Massie Lodge.
We like to think that we give something a little different not only
to our charges, but to all of our clients as well.
